My latest release, “A Shepherd’s Tale,” is an action packed song, bringing a new sound and new life to the Christmas story. Storytelling songs have always been an integral part of my writing, and this song is a great example of that style, retelling a tale we all know, (the birth of Jesus), from a perspective we don’t know quite as well.

This is the only song I’ve released so far that I did not do all the production on myself, instead outsourcing to the incredibly skilled Matt Macleod for the instrumental sections of this song

When we were working on this song, one of the main things I wanted to make sure was that it didn't sound like “generic Christmas music.” To get around that, we stayed true to the folky style of the lyrics, keeping a lighthearted, bouncy feel, with some Celtic flair in the percussion and fiddle parts.
